Frame Coating/ Rust prevention

Thanks Scramble, and I have been doing some research. I don't have any rust on my chassis but wanted to see what everyone has had better experiences working with as far as application and longevity is concerned.
Was looking towards either POR 15 or KBS Coatings. But not too sure what route would last longer.

With no rust & being in NV I'd just coat with fluid film once a year. I've been sanding & painting my chassis & it sucks! LOL
Thanks for the help! This Runner is originally from CA. That's what I though! Didn't want to go through all the trouble of sanding and repainting. Fluid Film it is! I'm assuming a couple cans would treat the whole frame?

I would buy a gallon & a sprayer, cans usually get too expensive. Unless you're in an apartment or dont have storage.
Amazon is where I'd shop.

I wouldn't POR15 these frames; I've had to deal with that product from time to time in the restoration industry, and it is a real PITA to remove for welding. Plan on modding your truck in the future?
(that being said, I don't have a better solution, I just abhor the stuff.)

Thank you, I have no motivation right now to finish. Maybe when it gets cooler out. LOL Plus my DS axle seal is leaking. argh!
Sorry, this thread was meant to provide feedback on products that worked best for people, and maybe help others. But If needed, mods can close this thread.

Know what you mean August been a mofo 90-100* 85-95% RH, 105*+ HI. Got a free gas powered Troybilt pressure washer 2600 psi, pump needed rebuild got that. So I just had to put it to use, get under runner get wet not bad at all.
But, I'm holding off on the get wire wheels n stuff out till it gets cooler.
I'd rather do axle seal than wire wheel for sure anytime.
The threads folks been posting about rust lately make me shake my head. Damn glad I moved out of that, you doing the right thing staying on top of it, I'm too OCD for that anymore Lol.
Wasn’t trying to come of as a dick. But google is really good with these topics. With that said. If you want something that stays on. Use fluid film. For inside frame Eastwood heay duty grease is good along with cavities. Wd-40 is good before you go off roading.

Topic may have been covered before but there's always new products coming out that may be better than what was used in the past. I've been using this stuff this week, kinda expensive but I like the results so far...

Wire brush the loose stuff off and use a degreaser if you'd like before applying. For the inside of frames and heavy pitted areas I use this stuff...

This stuff is amazing and even smells good. Any time is see a rusty bolt or something I spray a dab on it to prevent future rust.
Just remember anything is better than nothing whether it be paint, wd40, Fluid Film, engine oil, etc. :cheers:

I bought this short nozzle last year for my PW. Works better for the under carriage. You can get in closer & less wet! LOL

These 4runner frames are better than the Dana frames on the Taco's, Tundras & Sequoias. It's just a matter of people not washing the salt off during the winter. Where I failed was not rinsing the frame out until 2015.
I bought a 99 Limited parts truck, the interior is immaculate, I cant believe I'm the 7th owner. The drivers leather doesnt even have that rip they get. It's nicer than my 1 owner Limited. The paint & body are better too except for a deep scratch on the front right fender. The frame on it is disintegrating. I dont even need a screwdriver to poke a hole in the frame, I can do it with my finger. I wasnt going to let this 99 E-locked multi-mode Limited (only 145K) go to the junk yard. It's got tons of mods on it too. Toytec lift, ARB FB, trans cooler, Satoshi, TRD wheels, 33"duratracks, spidertrax, CVJ axles, new OEM rear upper & lower links, a set of 5 stars, new Rad, LBJ,s etc.

Thanks for the link, just a couple more dollars than a couple of nozzles.
Had to replace the one I now have riding around inside my frame, I stuck nozzle in frame hole quick connect caught Lol.
The frame issue is the only gripe I have with Yota. Once frame assembly (welding) was complete they should
have run it through their E-coat(ospho) submersion vat like they do with the body then paint.
Guess frame E-coat wasn't around then know it is now.
Nice parts truck you have there, what's the plan with it?
The garage is damn nice too, wish I could build one that size but HOA drives cost too high to justify it.
