Frame steel thickness?

Does anybody know if these patches are thick enough to be used as replacement panels for the frame, ie cut out the bad and weld this on to completely replace the old steel? They're 11 gauge, so 0.1196", so less than 1/8", doubting that's thick enough...

Looks like the stock frame rails are right at 1/8"...as far as I can measure.

Seems like you would want at least that thick, or more... I am not a frame repair tech...I weld stuff for the fun of it...

Thanks for the input. I'll keep looking into options, I've got time...I figure before this winter I'll coat everything in POR15 to stop further spread, and once we see what Toyota will do regarding frame rust I'll decide what method to use for repair if necessary.

You know, looking at that site.
It states that they are made to overlay or 'cap' the existing frame parts.
Maybe with the overlay they would be a improvement over a rusted frame?:fencing::scared:

It seems to depend on where it is. I was removing the scale on my frame with a needle scaler and created a hole in the bottom of the frame right under the driver's seat just behind where the frame gets thicker. The edge where there seems to be a seam is between 1/8" and 3"16". The flat part near that where my new hole is looks thinner than that after I cut the 2"x4" bad spot out.
