Frankenstiened 3.0...help

I've got a 94 4runner that just blew a t-belt. The owner before me installed 88-92 heads onto the 94 block. Then used the 94 hydraulic idles and the 88-92 mechanical fan bracket. So there wasn't any tension on the belt. Well, you guessed it, that doesn't work. I was told by Toyota that the hydraulic wouldn't work with the 88-92 heads, the mounting hole for the #2 idler isn't in the correct position, so I ordered a mechanical kit for the truck....

My question is, is there a difference in the water pumps from the 94 to the 88-92. The Toyota guy couldn't tell, and I need to mount the lower pivot piont for the #2 idle to the pump. From all the pics I've seen, I can't tell if it should bolted or ride on a dowel. My pump has a tab where it's suppose to go, but it isn't threaded. Should I tap it and use a bolt....or can someone piont me in the right direction for the dowel.

Please help...thx

Holy snot knuckles dude! Im sorry, you got a long road ahead. I think I would find a replacement motor and lay Frankenstein motor to rest... I know of a 96 wreck with a complete motor if you need it.

Well, I would love to do the 3.4 swap.... But it's my daily... There would be too much down time.

Anyway, if any of you ever run into this prob, I bought the mechanical idlers and tapped out the mounting hole on the water pump. Wasn't too hard, there's a tab there. You have to drill a hole and tap it out for the bolt.
