FREE repair/maintenance info from AllData
I wasn't sure where to post this, so if there's a better place, mods, please move it!
I noticed while searching the forums for information on maintenance and/or repair for our 4Runners that occasionally people would mention AllData (www.alldatadiy.com) as a source of information. For a subscription fee, you could get detailed information (just like from the shop repair manuals the dealers and other repair shops use) on how to maintain or fix just about anything on any OEM vehicle.
Just thought everyone should know that many public library systems throughout the US (and maybe elsewhere; I'm not sure) have subscriptions to AllData and provide it to their patrons for FREE.
You can't access the info from home by logging into your library account, however. AllData insists the database can only be accessed from participating library computers themselves. Some libraries allow you to upload the info you're looking for to your own CD, while others charge you a few cents per page to make copies.
