From SoCal, new to T4R, tacoma owner

New member here. New to 4runner. I have a 2006 tacoma dcsb trd sport for 9 years now and im ready to upgrade. I am planning to get the 2016 tacoma or 2016 T4R. Can someone here persuade me why should i get the 4runner instead?
It will be my daily drive to work (140 miles/week)and weekend fun (camping/offroad). I do not haul stuff and the pick bed will not affect my decision.
