Front ABS Ring Spinning Freely

I am installing my new front axle bearings, and I am running to some trouble with the ABS ring and retainer. I pressed everything in and the ABS ring and retainer are freely spinning.

Anyone know why this would be happening? I have continued pressing on it, but it doesn't budge, and is still loose when I release pressure.

I checked my other hub that is still fully assembled, and the ABS ring spins, but the retainer doesn't. That doesn't seem right either. Any ideas?

Aw come on, I know people have replaced their front bearings before. Someone's got to have some insight here...

He mentioned something about using the 4 point tool and ABS so figured it may help.

No idea Nelson, this and the upper BJ press-into-knuckle are two fixes I leave to others.

Maybe PM Dous, and see if he can get in touch with Singtoe, who has done such before.

I have also noticed this, mentioned it on a wheel bearing thread and had a search.

I have noticed EXACTLY this on my spare hub carriers that I'm building up for an easy fit.

Anyone else noticed it?

It might explain why our ABS is *so* terrible sometimes if you hit a bump.

I assume when the hub nut is torqued up it locks it in place?
