Front brake rattle fix

After installing new front brake pads and having the rotors turned on my 03 4runner they rattled intermittently. To solve this I added the same retainer to the top as is on the bottom of the pads. Looking around here I've seen others with the same problem and thought I'd throw this out there. The anti rattle spring in pic below

It's the same spring that's held down by the lower slide pin. From the factory there's just one on each caliper. shorepatrol added another one on the other (top) slide pin.

The dealer has the spring, maybe the local auto parts store might have it as well.

You shouldn't need two springs. All Toyota trucks have the same set up.

Take the lower spring that is shaped like a W and pull the wings out. Basically stretch out this spring. This will add tension when you put the spring back on and get rid of the rattle of the pads clapping against the rotor.

Very simple fix and very common.
