Recently purchased a new/old 1998 4Runner Limited and have been basically checking everything out. Never had a 4 wheel drive before and impressed with how this 4Runner is built. I did have a question and it's not an issue just curious about the front brake lines. I have done quite a few brake jobs on various autos I have owned but never have a seen a solid steel brake line that feeds directly into the caliper. Every single car I have worked on down to my BMW has flexible lines. Is this normal and do you have to actually remove the line from the front caliper when working on front brakes?
