Front control arm bushings?

Guys,

I am going to replace my LBJ, inner and outer tie rods and thought it may be a good time to replace my control arm bushings while I am at it.

It doesn't look like they all are available from Toyota anymore so I was curious if there are any aftermarket options that are recommended?

My local Toy dealership told me the same thing years ago but it wasn't true, they thought all they could get was the complete arm. Personally recommend you DON'T use regular rubber aftermarket.

Whiteline W53377A is an option if you don't want to do OEM.

I just did my upper and lower fronts and yes you can still get them

These are the ones my company makes, they're a bit of a job to install, but worth it in my opinion. Just lube them up liberally when installing and you'll never have squeaks. The free floating, firmer polyurethane bushings maintain alignment far better than the bonded rubber OE bushings that twist and tear. Rubber deflects, arms can move around, polyurethane is stiff and keeps everything straight.

If you're not getting polyurethane, or at least OEM quality rubber, forget about it! Most aftermarket bushings use cheap quality rubber that won't last.

So, if you are planning on doing this yourself, just order new LCAs with the bushings installed. Don't try to push them out.

I apparently spread my passenger side LCA just enough that it won't fit back in the brackets with the washers from the Whiteline kit. So here I sit, with like 4 hours of daylight on a beautiful day, with a disassembled 4Runner in my gravel driveway and a week of rain to look forward to.

I actually did order the OEM bushings and have a friend who is a Lexus master mechanic who has all the SST's required to press the bushings out and in.
