Front Door Lock question

I don't know if this was posted before but when i'm inside my rig and all my doors are locked, i can open my front doors ONLY without unlocking them. Is this a safety feature?

It's more of a convenience thing, so you don't have to unlock the door before you can open it. I'm going to say the logic behind it is most likely it'll be adults up front and kids will be in the back because of airbags and there are child safety locks on the back too. So making the front doors easy to open, even when it's locked is non-issue.
