Front end noise

I recently started noticing a sort of grinding/whining noise coming from the front of the motor. I noticed it was coming from the A/C compressor area. I turned on the A/C full blast and the noise went away. Turn the A/C off and the noise started again.

I'm not sure if this could just be my pully, a/c clutch or the bearing? or chance that its the entire compressor? Truck has 167k. Any help/advice is appreciated:dance:

I think it would be your clutch and or pulley assembly, if it were the bearings which are inside the compressor you would only hear it when the clutch engages (AC on), when the clutch is not engaged (AC off) only the pully is turning not the compressor.

I will start with replacing the pully see if that works. Thanks for the reply!

I just watched a YouTube video the other day, some guy found front end noise to be due to missing bolts in the skid plate.

I do not have a skidplate. I removed it after it rusted away lol. But thank your for your input.
