Front-end rattling question

I had the brakes on my 2004 SE done about 3K miles ago and now there's a rattling/clanking sound from the front every time I go over a bump. It stops when I hit the brakes. Should I assume (since it stops when I hit the brakes) that it's the brakes rattling, or could it be something else like the sway bar etc.

If it is the brakes, is it reasonable to expect the same dealer to fix them for free? I assume there's a pin loose or the pads need shimming, but I also know dealers will try to squirm out of doing any followup work without trying to charge you again, especially non-warranty work like brakes.

Go back to the dealer that serviced your brakes. It could be a safety issue and I'm sure they want to look at it. Be firm.
