Front end skid plate

There is an accessory front end skid plate you can get with the 4Runner. Does this skid plate protect anything or is it just for looks? The web site says to give you that Baja ready look. They say nothing about any protection it may give.

Do a search for Skid plate. All your questions should be answered.

I did the search, I can see it attaching to the frame in the back, no front pictures, so I have no clue if it just hangs there or gets attached to something in the front. Hard to tell from the pictures if it protects the radiator or anything else of importance. So my original question still stands. I am beginning to think it may be just for cosmetic looks but I am not sure.

You did not do the search properly. Do it again. Lots of installation instructions and pictures.

And yes it is for cosmetic only.

2006 Genuine Toyota accessory skid plate provides no protection of a real off road skid plate, therefore it's just a cosmetic statement.

I consider mine a stick plate. It kind of prevents sticks , Tall grass , weeds ect from getting into my radiator ect...

It does look nice though.
