So I've had this noise/whine coming from my front end for a little bit now, maybe a month or so and it is for sure in the front, there's no question about that. I always thought it was just a rattle. With the bigger aggressive tread offroad tires, it just makes things rattle at higher speeds
So this past weekend I changed all my diff fluids and now the rattling whine has changed to a very high pitched whine. This leads me to believe it's something in my front diff. The noise is not dependent of throttle or acceleration nor does it change when on or off the brakes. There's no vibrations of any kind either. I have noticed, and it could just be coincidence, that the pitch of the noise sometimes changes when I turn. Keep in mind, this isn't any kind of sharp turn, but a gradual turn like on the interstate. On some drives it's worse, other times it's barely there but in most cases at some point it's pretty loud. My hunch tells me it's in the diff but I'm not ruling any other things out at this time. Could be a cv axle, could be something at the hub.
Some troubleshooting I need to do is drive with 4wd on and see if there is any change. I need to run the front ARB locker and make sure it's working properly. I also want to check underneath for any obvious problems (cv's, loose diff/bolts, etc..) and check both front hubs for loose wheel bearings.
To hear the noise in the video, you'll either have to turn your volume up loud or use headphones. I suggest using headphones. Make sure you have no other background noise going on. The humming in the video is my tires. Yes, I know it sounds like I'm in an airplane lol

I'm going to call ECGS as this front diff was assembled by them (gears and locker) and it still under warranty.
