Front hitch receiver installation

2003 V8 SR5, I was having trouble locating a reasonable priced front mount hitch receiver so I figured Id try the Curt 31367 which is only supposed to fit if you have the turned down tow hooks.
My 2003 has straight tow rings.
Solution;I used a torch and bent the tow rings mabey 10-15 degrees with a breaker bar and got longer bolts and it fits fine. Its only to move my boat around on my property and use a basket for a cooler and some fishing poles.
Thought Id post it up for those interested in doing the same!
Good Luck!
cheers

Good to know that the receiver for the later 4th Gens will work with minor modifications!

Just an FYI, the front "tow rings" aren't tow rings or recovery points, they are in fact "tie down" eyes for when the T4R is loaded on a tralier or flatbed tow truck, etc.

That being said many do use them as recovery points but they aren't designed strong enough for that purpose if you're really stuck badly, not that you'll need them for towing or recovery now that you have a front receiver.
