front leg room

I'm almost 6'3 and although I seem to have enough leg room up front it would be nice to have a couple more inches. My ford explorer allows the seat to go back further than my 4 runner giving me extra room upfront. I never really noticed it untill my brother who is 6'5 got in and was very crouded. I never seem to have people in the back so I wish the front seat was designed to travel back further. I also noticed my head is much closer to the roof on the 4 runner. Are there any tall drivers out there that feel this way. Has anyone modified the seat bracket to allow the seat to go back farther? I really like the size of the vehicle and did not to get a large suv but the leg room does seem minimal for tall drivers at best. But dang this vehicle is sweet in every other way so far. What do you guys think about me looking in to modifying the front seats somehow to travel farther back. That would be sweet if I could do it without to much trouble/cost.

All 4runners have had little headroom... especially if you have a sunroof. I'm 6'1" and yes.. sometimes it does get a bit crowded near the head area but that's why I have power seats that lowers the seat as well. I don't really have any gripes about the leg area seating as its just fine for me.

Try playing with the seat adjustments if you haven't tried. You have SR5 or Limited? Best of luck on the brackets if you decide on that route.

I have the SR5 but its an 06 so I have the power seats. I have tried all the settings. Why does the sunroof cause a lower ceiling? Do they not just create an opening for the sunroof or is it somehow a completely different roof configuration to allow for the clearance?
