Front license plate frame

Is there a front bracket for the license plate? I just noticed that the dealer "made" two ugly holes into the bumper to make the license plate attach. :( I can't imagine that Toyota didn't take into account front plates. If there is a bracket, what is the part #.

Actually there is no frame from all past discussions on this subject. The bumper actually has two dimples where the dealer 'made' those holes using self tapping screws.

What holes did the dealer put in your bumper? I have holes aleady there.

Here is my bumper with no plate or frame yet. I hated taking this picture because the car has not been washed due to the wonderful southern pollen.

IIRC, those holes do not match up with the standard holes for a bracket or license plate. That's why I fabricated my own bracket.

If you look at those 'tabs' on the inside upper corner you'll see a dimple. That dimple marks the spot for the self tapping screws for a standard registration plate.

Also if you look on the silver accent piece it appears Toyota never planned on installing a bracket because there are two raised dimples for the plate to rest against.

I would like to know what the bigger holes are for though. Perhaps European plates?

Ah ha! So the bigger holes are for the Japanese plates. From the looks of the bare bumper and cutouts under the bigger holes they must slide threaded tabs over the holes so bolts can fit there.
