I am trying to figure out if anyone makes a front mount hitch that will bolt up to a 2nd gen. Does anyone out there know where I could find one??

Probably not exactly what you are looking for, or in the price range, but whatever front bumper I have has a hitch receiver in the front. I'll look tomorrow to see if there is a brand name on it. It was already on when I got the truck.

I was going to post I have that exact WARN one I used for 2 months and has been sitting in my shed since.
I'll make you a deal on it. :)

Jebus. Get some more bolts in that bumper before you plan on doing any winching.

If he doesn't want that bumper let me know what kinda deal you can do. It should fit on an 89' right? I know the front ends were very close to each other.

Ha! That looks exactly like what I have on mine. Maybe it was added to the bumper.

No, the bumper was built around it. And Hyde is right, don't even think about winching until you've got six bolts in there instead of two. Better yet, pull the bumper and plate the crossmember first.

That looks great! Did you have that fabricated?

Again, not sure your price range but I'm running with a WARN 25873 (Amazon.com: WARN 25873 Front Receiver Trailer Hitch, 2 inch: Automotive), and I only had to modify the lower valence just below the front bumper. Otherwise, it's working out great for me.

^^^ It's the Warn.

Thanks, everyone. Reading this on an old iPhone, and I missed a few posts. Djruuh: Was it the skid plate that requires modification?? What needed to be changed??
Mine - The WARN - just bolted on NO mods, I did remove one hook so I could install my Winch connector. 4 Bolts thats it!!!

Hmmm that warn receiver looks decent enough for maybe a front recovery point. I would maybe be able to use that as a starting point for a small bumper reinforcement since I'm not going with a permanent winch. Probably just going to use a winch cradle, since adding receivers into sliders is what I want to do for the sides as well.

Did you ever get pulled out with it or any other real stress put on it? The design looks like it provides some decent reinforcement for the front crossmember too.

I had to cut down my skid plate to give it more clearance and shift it around my transmission cooler. It's not the prettiest job, but I'll post a photo as soon as I can. I also ended up cutting out the middle of the plastic shield below the bumper.
