Front o2 sensor stud nut Size

The FRONT o2 sensor on my 2002 fell off since the nuts completely rusted off the studs. The studs look ok and cleaned them off. I read some of the forums and they call for an m8x1.25 nut. I tried this size nut and it just would not go on. Is the nut a m8x1.00 instead. ???????????

No. '02 shows the same 90179-08059 M8x1.25 nut as the other years. One possibility is studs were replaced along the way. Use a thread gauge to check or find a M8x1.25 bolt that works in your nut and hold it against the stud and see if they 'marry'. If the pitch confirms, you will need to chase the stud thread before the nut will thread up. Don't force it as the studs are a lot harder than the nuts.
