Front runner RR and quickfists

Anyone have any ideas on a good way to mount these to the side of a FR roof rack?

I have a few sets and was looking for the best way to use them for axe/shovel purposes.

Bumping an old thread, above link no longer work. Looking for a way to mount a shovel or axe or whatever on the side of a front runner rack. really don't like how front runner off shelf shovel mount works with ratchet buckle.

Has anyone tried this combo mounting it on the side? Would the side bracket and quick fist work well together? Needs new hardware to mount the quick fist on?
