front seats swapable in '99?

I want to swap the driver back for the passenger back and the driver seat for the passenger seat. Are they made at the factory to be used in either position with just the rails and controls different? I don't want to rip everything apart and find they made a "Right" seat and a "Left" seat with none of the holes lining up. These are standard seats - nothing electrical. Thanks for the info!

I suspect that his drivers side seat is more worn and broken in than his passanger seat.

I don't think they are swappable because of the seat tilt adjustment feature, but I could be wrong.

Worked perfect! Took about 4 hours but seats are swapped. Lots of cleaning on the rails since they're never exposed. 125k on the original seat and back and hopefully 125k more on the passenger/driver seat.

Good to hear that it worked! Perhaps there is hope for my truck when my drivers seat gets seriously worn down.

This is really my first project. Some of you guys really blow me away. I am just now getting into fixing my 99 4runner up with better equipment (has 125k). Still in pretty good shape. It's just had it's first two Ohio winters. I moved here from New Orleans. Truck is in incredibly good shape. What should I do next? It's due for a timing belt and I want to upgrade all the belts/spark plugs/cables in the engine. What do I use?

Looks like a lot of work! I'd just have bought a new seat. But good info.

As far as doing the timing belt, use OEM only. Don't go with Gaterback or whatever. They might work right....but they may not. With OEM, you're sure of the fitment and quality. That is one part that I would not skimp on. I would also use OEM for plugs and wires. "Upgrading" those parts won't get you any benefits.
