Front Skid Plate?

Hey guys I am looking into getting the front skid plate for my 4runner. Does the factory skid plate stick out or is it flush with the bumper? Also what is the advantages to having the front skid plate? Is it mainly for looks or does it protect the undercarriage of the vehicle??

1. it does not stick out very much
2. It is useless as a skidplate.

There are better ones available for less money from Budbuilt or Downey that actually protect.

It is mainly for looks. It might protect from any rocks coming up from the road into your radiator. Other than that is just for show. you can adjust it though to stick out more if you want or you can raise it up closer to the bumper or lower. Search my threads and it should have a pretty good post on when i was installing the skid plate with some pictures.

i just got mine put on today. it doesnt stick out much. and you have to kind of back away from your truck to see it if you don't have a lift. it gives yours 4runner a better look though for sure
