Front sport bumper trim

My 4runner has the sport bumper trim. It got backed into at about 2 mph and it shattered like it was made of glass. So, I figured, can't be that much to replace. Wow! Cheapest I found was $485!!!! Anyone know if this can be found for muuuuuuuch cheaper? It's not even much of a guard, just looked nice.

Holy crap that is ridiculous! Of course it's not much different than the guy selling 3rd gen Sport Skid Plates on Ebay for $350 when I got mine from the Toyota dealer for $66 my cost lol

It's insane! The thing couldn't stand up to a 1.5 mph bump. Exploded like a Pinto. Replacing the entire bumper is cheaper than this trim piece...by alot. Toyota is damn proud of this piece!

Its not worth replacing and there are many less expensive bull bar options. Even if your were to find it for 20-30% off you are better off going with a Strona, T&H or Westin bar to name a few.

I'd recommend you search the forum for each of the following subjects: bull bar, strona, westin you will find pics and feedback regarding the bars that others have installed.

There are a few options available on ebay. Take a look. There are more affordable options available. I would recommend you purchase a stainless product to avoid rust down the road.

No plans for off-road. It's my wife's truck. Pretty much aesthetic. It just added a little to the front. Just looking for something that uses the same mounting holes as the sport trim. Don't do much off roading anymore. I'm a straight-line guy now.
