Front Wheel Bearings

Hey there,

I have a 2002 Sport Edition with 143,000 miles and there is a very slight grinding noise/slight shimmying coming from both of the front wheels. I took it to the mechanic and he said that either I have bad tires or it's the wheel bearings. What are wheel bearings and how much does the dealership (stealership) charge to replace them? Also, is this a very serious problem?? Thanks,

Go to the cheapest shop in your city and ask to have the front wheel bearings "cleaned & re-packed".

They might not need to be replaced.

I got all this done for $175:

Front wheel bearings cleaned and re-packed.
Rotors re-surfaced.
New brake pads.
