Front wheel, hub bearing or hub assembly? (2WD)

On the 4runners (2WD, not 4WD), can you simply change out a hub assembly if your front wheel bearing is starting to make noise or do the bearings have to be pressed in?

On many of the cars I've had in the past you could just swap out a hub assembly with basic hand tools. The assembly usually cost a lot more than just a bearing, but the cash saved on labor usually more than made up for it.

You gotta pay The Man to press them in and out. I did it a few yrs back and I brought to whole steering knuckle to a machine shop where they charged me about $20 per bearing. that really stinks. i'm all for paying a few bucks more for an entire assembly but being able to change it out myself.

Even if you spend massive bux to get new knuckle, you still have to pay The Man to press the bearing in.

like I said, sucks. was used to being able to just buy a new hub assembly that already had new bearings in it and just bolt that sucker in place. seems like Toyota didn't make anything easy on the 4Runners, lol.
