Frozen caliper pistons

I attempted to change the front brake pads and found 2 caliper pistons were frozen on each of the front calipers. (4 frozen total) I was able to free 2 of them after some work. But the other 2 are still frozen solid and don't look like they are going to move. I am currently soaking then with WD40. I wonder if it would be better if I just bought another caliper set.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I have removed the calipers from the truck and I have attempted to remove the caliper pistons with compressed air as instructed in the repair manual.

They are currently on a bench with the frozen pistons covered in WD40.

I had the exact same problem, my left front caliper was frozen and was pulling to the left and wearing the pads more than the one on the right. The dealer found out that it was frozen and that the right one was starting to do the same thing so they replaced both with new ones free of charge under warranty. However, they will charge you for brake linings, rotors and any other job that they feel is part of maintenance. I tried arguing with the rep about the fact that the brakes were worn due to a deffective caliper but he wouldn't listen...I hope you have good luck with them

I only go to the steeler for parts.

I got the inital free oil change and havent been back since. I'm well of the warantee period anyway.

I've had that problem. I've used compressed air to try to push the piston out, but it wouldn't move. I then decided to use a C-clamp to push the piston in more (to break the rust bond). After that, I was able to get it out with a combination of compressed air and a brass drift and hammer (put the drift on the little lip of the piston, and hit it with the hammer).

So how are those calipers coming? Did you get them unstuck and rebuild them?
