The truck spent the majority of its life in Alabama. The previous owner was the one who performed the enginer swap, who purchased it off of an older guy who had the truck sitting in Alabama. The person I bought it from (I will provide their info as well) does a lot of Toyota engine swaps, and put the 2rz-FE engine in it, for a bit more power and some added reliability.
-1988 4Runner
-2RZ-FE Engine Swap (80-90k Miles)
-Stock Suspension (Have an entirely brand new Old Man Emu suspension ready to be installed - 950$ New)
-Stock Differential (Have a used Electronic Locking Diff ready to be installed, not sure what car it was pulled from)
-Truck has minimal rust damage. Fenders are clear of rust, there was rust on the floor board which is common in the 1st gen 4runner's, I went ahead and patch welded this area, I have pictures from the job. Other than that, a bit of surface rust in the typical areas, but nothing serious as this truck has rested in south eastern united states most of it's life.
-Soft Toppers soft top. Purchased new 1.5 years ago. (800$ New)
-Installed new carpet in the front cab after patch welding the floor.
-Body had 180k miles on it
-Replaced the stock head unit and front speakers
-Paint has fade and wear due being in the sun for an extended period
-crack in the front windshield
For a 1st Gen 4Runner this is a solid truck with a lot of potential. It has avoided the typical northern rust belt. She definitely needs some love to get back to it's full potential. Everything left to do to her is mostly cosmetic (excluding putting in the parts I already have). I'm moving to Texas this summer and just don't have the time or space to bring her with.
