FS 1st gen in N Florida. $800
Okay guys, its been a long time since I have been really active on here and Im sad for it to end like this, but I have to sell my 4runner. Military life has left me with no time at all to work on it and get it back on the road or trail worthy, its just sitting in my garage taking up space and makes me sad when I come home for a few days. Its a 1989 4runner DLX 22RE/W56 manual with 439,xxx miles on it, in pretty rough shape inside and out. body has rust in the bottom front fenders, around the windshield. Floorboards are solid, fiberglass top is solid with no leaks. Cab roof has had several holes drilled in it but all are sealed up and not leaking for now, never got around to bodywork with it. Few dents and scrapes from trails with one big dent in the rear quarter drivers side. Paint is in decent shape considering its age. All glass is there and in good shape. Interior was gutted when I got it and rhino lined, has no headliner or door panels, rear interior panels are aluminum with rhino liner. Front seats have rips and wear, rear seat is in good shape (gray interior). Dashboard has a crack in it, the radio deck area is missing, the glovebox has some hole carved in it I think from the P.O mounting a CB in it. Now for the really bad. I daily drove this truck for years with many weekend family wheeling trips and we had so much fun in it. The 22RE I think was replaced before I got it with a 1993 engine and used the original W56 trans. Well done replacement done it looks, but the engine ran great without any issues for years, and when ever I did have an issue the guys on this forum were quick to give detailed help and direction. Unfortunatly a little over a year ago it had an electrical fire. I had a Toyota friend help get it back together and fixed the wiring, also did the GM alternator conversion using a CS130 120 amp and the trail gear bracket. Ever since then it never ran right and then had a short in the fuel injector circuit and blew the computer. Since then I haven't gotten to work on it and several other 4runner guys have "borrowed" parts from it. Mainly the brake master and booster, and some sensors. In short it needs someone who loves these trucks and wants to bring one back from the grave, or use it to resurrect another one. The good with the truck is it has brand new OME rear suspension in it with medium leafs, DT shocks, the front was redone with everything except ball joints and torsion bars. Locking hubs are in great shape and work well, power steering pump was just rebuilt. Truck is sitting on a set of split five Sequoia wheels with 33" BFG Rugged Terrains, all have great tread life left except for one front tire with has some cupping from the tie rods being worn before rebuild. Its a rough truck but was great when it ran and I had time for it. I hate to see it go but figured I would post it here first for someone who appreciates these and wants one for cheap. I have a clear Florida title. Asking $800 for it as is, a few extra parts come with it. Engine will fire and run on starter fluid, but injectors aren't firing. Someone give Rex a good home please.
