As another recent poster has mentioned, I hate to make my first post on this forum be a "for sale" post, particularly because it is with a heavy heart that I offer for sale our 2003 V8 SR5 trim level 4Runner. I know I do not need to tout how excellent this truck is (or has been) to us, and it is only because we have come to severe circumstances that we are forced to give it up.
Because this isn't craigslist or the classifieds in a newspaper, I'm certain I don't need to explain what all this truck came with. So, suffice it to say, it's black with the gray flares, completely stock, and impeccably maintained mechanically. Has the towing package, sliding sun roof, 17" alloy wheels, cloth seats. Cosmetically...well, it's in good shape for the most part, never wrecked, no body rust or dents, but it is 7 years old and well-driven. It has 162k miles, mostly highway, and this truck has never been abused.
Regular oil changes, and ALWAYS synthetic (Mobil1) with Toyota filters since we purchased it used in 2006 (with 60k miles on it). So, 100k+ miles of synthetic, and it's never lost a drop. Engine roars beautifully, as it should. No check engine lights, etc.
Obviously, as the V8, it's the permanent 4WD - all other fluids have been replaced at regular maintenance intervals (transmission, gear case, etc.). Low gear, the center diff, ATRAC, VSC, hill descent, etc. all are in perfect working order.
The timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys and tensioner were all done at 91k miles as part of scheduled preventive maintenance. The accessory/serpentine belt was last done 5k miles ago. ALL parts put onto this vehicle were genuine Toyota parts. Brakes were totally redone last year, including rear rotors and front calipers.
We put four new Bridgestone AT Revo's on the truck one year ago almost to the day. A little over a month ago, we had our spare tire+wheel stolen. Within a week, one of the new tires blew the sidewall and was irreparably damaged. So... this truck is now missing its spare wheel and it has a mis-matched fourth tire (size, brand, model are the same but the tire was purchased used and has slightly different wear than the other tires). Truck still rides fine and is in balance. We also have a spare *tire* for the truck should another problem arise, just not the wheel.
The interior is in decent shape, but has the usual wear for a car its age with this number of miles. The driver's seat has recently acquired a small pin hole from wear. We do have a dog, and my husband smokes cigars occasionally (but is not a chain smoker). The interior is beige, and despite regular cleaning the carpet has some wear and stain, particularly on the driver's side and in the cargo area. This car was a northern vehicle up until about 2 months ago, but luckily survived any permanent salt damage because of frequent hose-downs with the exception of the alloy wheels. They have begun to corrode somewhat.
All regular maintenance is up-to-date. Tune-up with Nippondenso iridium spark plugs done same time as timing belt, so both will be due again at 201k. All parts have been OEM parts.
All in all, great truck and we've done our best to maintain it even if it has also been well-used. We're in St. Louis, MO and asking $9900 or best offer. I only have one picture to post tonight, but more will be forthcoming and I could also email more. Please note that the bumper looks funny in the photo because I have obscured our license plate.
Please PM or call (314) 329-5237 with any questions.
Thanks for looking. We also have the truck listed locally, but I'd rather it be purchased by someone who can appreciate it for the fine machine that it is.
