2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited V-8 4WD Nav
Asking Price: $10,900 (My T4R price)
Price Justification (i.e. sales pitch): I put over $10,000 (mostly repairs and maintenance) into this vehicle over the last year to get it to where it is at. You can find a 4Runner for less than I am asking, but it may require a lot of work to get it to where this one is. I bought the 4Runner at a pretty low price for a vehicle that seemed to be in good condition. Good condition wasn't good enough for me so I dumped a bunch in this to make it as new as possible to me, at least mechanically. I did everything I could do to bring the vehicle current with all maintenance including the dreaded timing belt. I fixed everything that wasn't operating as it should and gutted the supension and put all new bushing, ball joints, springs, and shocks/struts. The vehicle drives like it is new.
Miles: 171,700
General Condition: Everything works and it drives great. The motor runs very smooth, fast, and burns nothing. Transmission works great as well. In general, it is mechanically sound. Cosmetically it shows its age slightly in a few spots. The body and paint look good and no dings. There are a few scuffs and dings on the interior, and the drivers side seat is cracked on the side.
Chassis: There was some light surface rust under the vehicle (none on the main frame), but I wire brushed it and used the POR-15 process to convert the rust and put a protective coat on it. I then sprayed it with the Rustoleum Professional Undercoating. The process took a long time and was done right to make the chassis last a long time.
Navigation: Came from a 2014 Scion FRS. Added backup camera and center console USB connects to it. The microphone is wired in as well. Works great. Love the HD radio.
Maintenance & Repairs (@155k miles): Timing belt, water pump, CV axles (high quality from CVJ), spark plugs, brake flush, brake pads & rotors resurfaced, differential oil change (front & rear), power steering drain and refill, transfer case oil change, and EFI injector & throttle body cleaning. I fixed a few things when I first bought it, but those things aren't worth mentioning. Also, the prior owner replaced the exhaust manifold around 140k miles. Since owning it, it has only seen synthentic oil, which was just changed. Has a Fumoto drain valve.
Suspension: As previously mentioned, I gutted the entire suspension and replaced everything that wore out to make the vehicle drive like new. The shocks/struts and springs were from a FJ Cruiser TRD (Bilstein) and had less than a few hundred miles on them. The lower control arms and upper control arms bushings were replaced along with both ball joints. The caster bolts were replaced as well. A front Toytec spacer was added to level the vehicle.
Tires: BFGoodrich K02 265/70/R17. They are less than 2 months old. The spare was replaced at the same time. Paid over $1,200 for the 5 tires.
Wheels: I exchanged the original Limited wheels for 6-spoke Sport wheels. Just my preference in case you are wondering.
Exhaust: Borla dual exhaust. I have the OEM exhaust as well if interested in having it swapped out.
Trailer Hitch & Towing Package: Has the heavy duty hitch and transmission cooler. Hitch is in perfect condition.
Headlights: Upgraded to the newer 06-09 4Runner headlights with 4200K HID. Fog lights were upgraded to HID as well.
Taillights: Upgraded to newer 06-09 4Runner taillights.
All-weather Weathertech mats and cargo cover are included.
