My 96 4runner had a piston ring get stuck and starting taping.
Engine bore is close to limit with depth of markings. Engine had 280k miles, never overheated.
The heads, less 2 valves, were w/in gap recommendation, those 2 were just out. The crank journals were in spec. Can shoot pics of rider side head.
The valves look good (journals smooth). Also have intake/throttle body from 2000 3.4, and a cut at firewall harness. I was tempted to just hone cylinder, add max size piston and have runable replacement.
$200 as is.
