This has been a great truck for me and we have been on a lot of adventures and good memories. I got into kayak fishing several years ago and we have gone to tournaments, slept in the back, camped out, and I have taken as best care of her as I can. I looked specifically for a 5spd 4wd for months and finally found a mechanic that was selling it over in Tampa.
I bought it with 138,000 miles and since then have put new EVERYTHING on her: new timing belt & water pump put on at 180,000 miles, new rear door struts, new front steering rack with polyurethane bushings, fuel filter, cleaned out the injectors, new rotors (still under warranty through Autozone), stainless steel break lines, new CV boots, upgraded the suspension with a Toytec lift, Old Man Emu springs and shocks (lifted it 1.5"), upgraded tires (lifted another .5", total 2" lift), I prepped and taped off the vehicle and protected her by spraying on U-Pol Raptor bedliner that has UV protection so that it will be very durable for years to come, protecting the roof, hood, bumpers and fender areas from debris and the rough sun in Florida. Also I carefully taped off, prepped, and heat sprayed my rims to a semi-flat black color. I'm glad I did.
It has the factory roofrack but also an upgraded Yakima rack that will hold 2 kayaks side by side for easy loading. I can possibly include this rack if we negotiate.
I put on $200 canvas seat covers to protect the seats, custom WeatherTech floor-mats that you can pull out and rinse off very easily (front and rear), installed a custom rod/reel holder for the ceiling holding 7 rods securely to your fishing destination, installed foam/rubber in the rear interior to add cushioning if camping out and protection from hauling anything. K&N air filter installed. $125 window weather tracts (so you can crack the windows and it keeps it cool). Professional tint job. The factory rear privacy slider is also in 100% great shape in case you need to cover/conceal anything in the back of the cabin. I have installed additional lighting on the rear lift up door for additional lighting at night.
A custom sub enclosure over the rear wheel well new goes for $600 and is included. I have installed a new Kenwood unit that is bluetooth, you can play your tunes wirelessly from your phone, take calls without a handset (installed a microphone), charge your phone with extra USB and plug in auxiliary.
Minor oil leak like most Toyotas. I had the valve cover gasket changed when I first bought it and I believe this is where it's coming from, again, like most Toyotas. I just changed the gear box oil and differential oil. Regular oil was changed every 3,000 miles as well as tires rotated/balanced and alignment as I had lifetime service of all of these. 4wd works great, you don't have to get out and activate on the lugs, just do it from inside. Will need spark plugs & possibly wires in the future. Again, it runs great.
Just took it on a roadtrip to NC and PA from Florida and she did great as usual. Along the way my exhaust took a hit and the pipe after the muffler is off. It has a brand new catalytic converter I just put on it before the trip.
Phew, that was a lot. Time to get something newer with a future family in the plans, sad to see her go.
