FS 3rd gen, 98 TOYOTA 4Runner Limited 4x4/e-locker/164k miles - cars...
I hold the title, Carfax report, current smog cert (July 2020). This Gen3 is in outstanding condition, I'm the second owner, the 4Runner was purchased new by my parents and driven my mother for approximately 14 years.
- All preventative maintenance/ maintenance was conducted at Sterling McCall Toyota Houston, TX through 2012. The summer of 2012 they shipped the 4Runner to Los Angeles where my wife used it as a family vehicle for approximately 4 years. The 4runner was garage kept from 1998 - 2017 with annual detailing, the paint is in very good condition. From 2017 - present the 4Runner has been used an extra vehicle, barley used. Additionally, I have a company vehicle.
- Synthetic oil from the start
- Everything works except the clock, comes on every now and then (mystery)
- I engage the 4x4 every month in order to keep it working and grease axles when needed. The vehicle has never seen a trail.
- There is no frame rust.
- Clean title
- No accidents
- No issues with smog test (after O2 sensor was replaced)
- AC/Heat works well
- No engine or sunroof leaks
The issues
- Torn/worn driver seat
- dent near tail light on rear passenger panel and bumper
- fender plastic scraped up in places/ a clip or two has broken
Major/Recent Maintenance:
- 105,000 miles: tune-up at Sterling McCall Toyota Houston
- 117,000 miles: timing belt, drive belts, valve cover gaskets replaced
- 145,000 miles: starter replaced
- 151,000 miles: new tires
- 159,000 miles: O2 sensor replaced
- 162,000 miles: replaced radiator
- 163,000 miles: new battery
- 163,000 miles: new front brakes
really an outstanding ride. I have taken a job overseas and can't bring it... will be valued at 20k in 10 yrs...:sobbing:
