You could also go by body shops in the area and see if they would be willing to give you the boxes for the hoods they go through. You could put the hood in the box and then crate it was well if necessary for extra protection. Just a small suggestion.

The easiest way to see what is close to you is to try HollanderParts.com or Car-Part.com - both of these websites usually have the same exact hoods listed. There are usually about 25 in the entire country - 1/2 Sport hood per state. I don't know about you, but if I were buying half a Sport hood I would ask for a huge discount! Sometimes you will see more than 25 OEM Sport hoods for sale, but as you dig deeper you will see that many are aftermarket hoods (without the $150 Toyota scoop insert + other scoop stuff), incomplete hoods, just for parts (probably just the scoop insert or heat shield, etc).

If you are waiting for a color-matched OEM Sport hood to show up at the salvage yard closest to your house you may be waiting forever. If you think about it these Sport hoods are relatively rare to begin with. Each passing day as 4Runners are getting wrecked or crushed they get even more rare. They aren't making any more OEM Sport hoods. Each one has a unique VIN# that I started posting on the For Sale thread. I can go to 20 different salvage yards on one Saturday in Houston and not see one single Sport hood.

If you want an aftermarket hood that is easy. You can buy one for between $75 and $300 on eBay or wherever. You will then need the scoop insert and the related items from Toyota which will cost $150. After that you will need to color match your hood and have it blended into your fenders which will probably cost at least $200. If the aftermarket hood costs $150 you will spend at least $500 for a hood that is not the quality of an OEM Sport hood.

Two Silver Sport Hoods Available

If someone will buy one or both of these Millennium Silver Sport hoods between now and Saturday morning I will be able to go out Saturday and find more 4Runner parts that people need. I've gotten pretty good at finding stuff. I have my eye on some pristine 2000 headlights I want to grab as well as some other things. If I don't sell at least one of these Silver hoods I will not have the money to go out and get anything this weekend. The cheaper hood - not this one, SOLD to Jeff from Killeen, Texas for $315.

Loaded up the (SILVER 002) hood and headed to Milano, Texas (Alyssa was not there)

Met Jeff in Milano with his 1998 Desert Dune 5-Speed 4x4 Supercharged 4Runner + ARB Bumper. Jeff will probably be joining the forum soon.
