For sale are brand new 3rd Gen Skid Plates lasercut from 7ga (3/16") 304 STAINLESS STEEL with a BRUSHED FINISH. They weigh approx. 50lbs and will fit all 3rd Gen 4Runners and 1st Gen Tacomas.

These things look awesome (imo) and are pretty much indestructible. Best part is, even when they do get all banged/scratched up they WILL NOT RUST.

Damn, they look sexy, but non-auto is a deal breaker. Since 5-speed 3rd gens are so rare, it seems they would have developed for autos first, but oh well. Let me know if you come out with an auto version.

[MENTION=122346]22rethan[/MENTION] FWIW, I happen to know off the top of my head that, on my 98 limited auto, the radiator sticks roughly 3" below the frame. I checked this figure when deciding how to or if I could raise it above the frame for better skid angles...

Thing is I developed it to fit my truck which is a 5spd Tacoma. I'm working on making ones to fit autos but trouble is I don't have one to take measurements on to make absolutely sure it fits.

For anyone who is interested in an automatic version, (large radiator version), send me an email [email protected] and I can let you know if/when I have an adapted version. It really isn't that big of a deal once I get and can confirm accurate measurements.

Great. I'll mark you down for one. Lmk when you decide which one you'd like. Also, if the weight is an issue I can cut one for you from 11GA (.120") and it would save you about 15-20lbs. Of course it wouldn't be as strong, just depends what you want to do with it. ;-)

Did the radiator sit 3" below the frame BEFORE or AFTER the 2" body lift?

Update: I installed a 2" body lift recently on my '99 Limited, auto trans. I have not dropped the radiator yet to realign it with the engine, as the radiator lifts with the body but, of course, the engine stays with the frame. The bottom edge of the radiator sits right at 2" below the bottom edge of the frame, and just less than 1" below the front mounting point of the skid plate on the crossmember.

Is there anyone that can measure these same dimensions for a stock, manual trans. 4Runner to give us a reference to see what differences there are?
