did you have to modify the plastic bumper as well?

You have to cut the lower center section out of the plastic bumper and a little bit of trimming, the material is easy to cut nice and clean with a jig saw and some tape to protect the finish.

I could install for a lil extra $

Could it be used as a recovery point?

Yes I've used it a couple times to get pulled out in deep sand, wrap around the little middle vertical tube.

The way it mounts it ties the front of the frame into the front lower crossmember and strengthens the front section in the process.

I have my cut front plastic bumper and high cut fenders for sale too
