My girlfriend just gave my $100 for sliders as a bday gift. I told her that money is now going to a roof rack. She looked at me funny and said 'I gave you that money so I can get in your runner' (I didn't think it was funny enough to put in the sh*t my GF says thread)

I hope you are around making these for a while...I like what you have come up with here, just don't have the funds at this time. Looking forward to seeing pics of the rack installed on other member's trucks.

Is GOBI the only company that makes a ladder for the back of our 4Runners???

No, think there are ladders made for the helix surf's that fit also.

Any plans for a ladder to go along with the Drabbits rack? :eyebrows:

It's been on my mind for awhile, but really haven't sat down and drawn up something that won't infringe Gobi's design, besides it would be hard to beat their price, considering its PC'd.

Long time forum stalker and first time poster. I just picked up a 2014 SR5, and was curious if you know whether the mount points are the same? I've looked at the Toyota production specs pdf's which appear to be the same, but not sure if it was a copy and paste from the previous yrs. With the third row option I need the rack to be my first mod. I'm down in San Diego and wouldn't mind the road trip excuse to validate and purchase. :lookout:

Thank you, there is a sunroof insert available and the fronts are supported by a 3rd pair of mounts. I'll provide pic's and explain how they work as soon as I can.

Pretty much sold on this but any update on fwd mount points?

Any updates on the pictures of the third mount? Also any chance of pictures of the sunroof insert, is it removable or would it be fixed? Does the picture you already posted have the mesh liner in it I'm assuming?

I've been PMing him and I know he is swamped...what he did say yesterday is that the forward mount points work exactly like Gobi/Baja with the double-sided tape holding down the mounts. He also mentioned he has updated pics of the cross-bars, and is still working on the powder coat option if someone doesn't like the free painting.

Just waiting on pics...

I really want to order one too, but I have been waiting on a quote for shipping since Wednesday. I just worry by he time if order one the payment to receive time will be 90 + days! and I have to have mine before the end of nov.

Finally have some time to answer some questions and upload a few pics. of what the cross bars and front stabilizers look like.
Also for those of you that would like to powder coat your roof rack, individually the cost will run around $250, together as a group the price decreases quite a bit. For example if 2 roof racks are done together, the price would be around $350, saving each person $75. I'll have more information come Monday.

The cross bars are set in place with a simple allen key bolt and nut.

Here's what the front stabilizers look like. They clamp on to the bottom rack rail and attach to the roof with double stick tape. I designed them so you could remove your roof rack and yet keep the mounts on.
