Are these aluminum or steel base? I assume these are true running boards and not sliders style protection? Do they attach to the body or the frame?

Hey Jason,
These are the OEM running boards that came with the Trail Edition. They are not sliders. The boards themselves are mounted with metal brackets (sturdy but they seem lighter than steel) and are mounted to the body.
