1989 SR5 Pre- March 3.0 4Runner 4x4 ( the pre-march part is important because they switched body styles in March so not alot of these produced and when buying parts they need to know this.
New BFG AT/KO 31's
Fuel system is all new tank to injectors
Coolant system is all new Radiator to block including t-stat
Timing belt with all tensioners replaced
Most of the hoses have been done
All Steering components new except box itself
Old Man Emu Rear Leafs 2" lift roughly
Front BJ Spacers
I forget the shock brand currently but it was a quality shock

Starter contacts ( this takes about 5 minutes to do and 4 hours to get in and out )

Toyota Brand Sending Unit for fuel gauge ( this took 3 tries to get from dealer and cost 300 bucks)

Throttle Position Sensor
Flowmaster 50 all pipe and SS high flow Cat ( less than 5K miles ago )

Probably a million other things I am forgetting
Soft Topper soft top ( 700-800 bucks )
Quick detach door hinge mod ( clevice pin set-up )
All the plastics and hard top in Raleigh but truck itself is in Ridgeland. I did not drive it when it started overheating. I paid 180 bucks to have it towed 10 miles just so I would not warp heads. It will run and drive but I am pretty sure it is the head gasket.
I bought this 99 percent rust free from Havelock from a guy who found it in AZ. The original undercoating and paint is on the bottom side. There are some small spots of rust on a fender and hood. The rear tire well has a dent above it from a school bus that got too close and bumped me. I planned to have it tapped out when I painted it. The interior is there but as typical of a desert car the plastics are all cracked. It does have the SR5 cluster which is popular to purists. If I had the time I would part it out but zero time right now.
I have 90 percent or more of the receipts and some extra parts I meant to put in when I tore into it. I know one is the PCV valve. I believe the head gasket was probably going when I got it because the plugs showed some coolant very early on. I knew it was coming and should have done it when I had more time before taking the position here. It probably also will need an ECT which is 45 bucks. It did not register overheating on the gauge and I have often wondered if the coolant temp sensor was going. just never had a chance to fix it.Click image for larger version.
I am pretty firm at 3K for it and alot of times I think about just sticking it in our back warehouse until I get time. It is a neat truck. The only thing I would even consider on a trade would be a Honda or possibly a Suzuki/Kawasaki 4 wheeler, or partials on good european binos for my son or a break action shotgun for bird hunting now that I seem to be in the bird hunting capitol. The mechanic that poured about a million hours into it with me started adding up what I have spent "just trying to fix one thing" so i could avoid buying a newer vehicle and I could have probably paid cash.
