I've decided to remove my K&N FIPK-II kit (K&N part #57-9023) and to offer it for sale first to T4R.org members. If it doesn't sell in a week, then I'll list it on eBay.
The reason for removal and sale: quite simply, I've decided that I prefer the stock sound -- more of a "stealth" mode (maybe I'm just getting old
). And I want to sell to recoup some of my investment...and someone can get a bargain.
There has been lots of discussion on the topic in Vandert's thread, including two videos that illustrate the performance and sound with the kit. The thread also has photos of the kit. The K&N site with additional information on the FIPK-II is here and this page has information about the 57-9023 kit.
An inventory of parts was done this afternoon to verify that the kit has all parts needed to install; I've left portions of it pre-assembled so your installation will go faster (it took about 45 minutes to carefully remove it last weekend). It has never been registered and includes the C.A.R.B. exemption sticker.
In all, the kit has about 2,000 miles on it, the vast majority of which were highway miles on one trip.
K&N's list price is $400; the cheapest I have found it on Froogle is $259.99 plus shipping.
Asking price is $125 + $10 trackable shipping within the US only. PM me if interested or if you have questions.
