I am looking to sell my 2002 4runner 2WD Sport Edition. I am the original owner of this vehicle and now currently has 193k miles on it. I have done all of the work myself including the maintenance: oil change every 5,000 miles using synthetic oil. This truck gets 15-16 mpg and I get compliments on it everywhere I go. It is a used truck so don’t expect it to look brand new inside and out but would make for a great daily driver/weekend wheeler.
I am selling it due to the engine needing a valve job on cylinder 1 as told by a family friend mechanic. The truck shakes from a full stop and sometimes noticeable when accelerating but it isn’t noticeable as much at higher speeds. I was quoted the repairs would be $900-1200 but I recently purchased a new truck and don’t have time or the money to mess with this one anymore. It is still a great vehicle and should last quite a bit longer… If you know a lot about 3rd gen. 4runners then you know they get 350k miles on avg. if not more.
