FS: OEM SCION Alpine DVD head unit...

For Sale: Very rare stock head unit that I used in my 2005 4Runner. It was made by Alpine for Toyota for a limited production RS 2.0 Scion XB. This will fit late model 4Runners, Highlanders, and Tundras (not sure about 2007) and allow you to wire up any monitor you like (headrest or overhead) without going to an aftermarket set-up. Comes with remote also. Looking to get $350 shipped.

Quick question about the alpine unit. Was it plug and play with the 6-disk JBL? I have an 05. How did the ipod interactivity work? Was it a mini-plug or was it a dock connector? I have an opportunity to get one, just wanted to see if you know it would work or not. Any input would be great. Thanks!

I didn't. I still have mine. I got a second unit from a guy I know who sold his Xb RS 3.0 and that's what I sold.

so do you know if it is a direct swap with a JBL 6-disk?

It is a direct swap for the std 6 disk changer - Can't tell you about the JBL unit. I can tell you that the amps in this unit are MUCH cleaner than the std 6 disk unit. Great mod for me!

it is a direct sway for the normal non-JBL unit. and I echo Steve's comments... the sound processing is 100 times better than the Fujitsu unit.

The Ipod interface cable is available on ebay. The unit is controlled through the HU and the names of the songs and artist toggle through a button on the HU and show up on the blue display. Kind of clunky but the sound is excellent. My 5gen ipod and Nano do not work though - I've only gotten the 3rd gen to interface.

beirish, do you remember if there are rca pre-amp outs on the back of the unit? I got a picture from someone that is selling one, but can't read the print. Are the 4 rcas on the back for the video monitors? just wondering if i could use the metra adapter for this thing to make it work for the jbl.

have you gotten a 5th gen ipod to work with it?

I don't believe that it has any pre-outs, only in's. I am contemplating selling my '05 and buying a new Limited with NAV. If anyone is interested in this unit, let me know.
