fuel door

My fuel door seems to have a problem closing.
The pin that actually does the locking keeps sliding deeper into the sleeve and does not leave enough pin exposed to actually close the fuel door. I have manually pulled it out and it keeps sliding back in.
Anyone experience this? If so, what is the remedy?

My apologies. I have an '07 SR5.

I believe that 'pin' is supposed to be spring loaded to extend out and catch the fuel door. If it is not rebounding out on its own, I would suspect the spring is broken. Or, the cable from the release lever under the dash is stuck/frozen.

"If so, what is the remedy?" '07 is most likely still under warranty so take it in and have dealer fix it. Unless they see pry marks on the door it sould be covered.
