so....i got a fuel filter (wix brand from parks) and was all ready to replace my fuel filter (my mechanic said at least every 60k miles), and i cant get the dang nut loose. i even went and bought the flare nut wrench or whatever its called. what else can i do? i don't wanna round it off an the wrench has already slipped on the nut..what kind of tool/procedure would yall recommend? i put Tabasco on it. no luck w that.

any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Mine was stuck too after my last fuel filter change. I just periodically spray it with PB blaster and Fluid Film, hoping it will break free next time around. As long as one side comes loose the filter can be changed

Same problem. PB blasted the hell out of it and still couldn't get it off. Started to strip it a bit so decided to stop and gonna take it to a shop sometime soon when I get around to it... Not worth making a bigger problem than it should be

This is an old thread but what I have found that works is to first go tighter and then loosen it. Going a notch tighter breaks the bond between the threads and then it comes apart easier. Its like gettng a running start.
