Fuel Filter & Maintenance in General

I replaced the fuel filter on my 97 last night and man what a difference!! Not sure when it was last done since I bought it about a month ago, but I keep hitting maintenance items here and there and this was a big one!! Much more throttle response. I still need to do plugs and wires, valve gasket replacement, auto tranny fluid change and flush plus add a cooler and I will probably get a power steering fluid flush. Anyone running aftermarket spark plug wires?

How bad are your valve cover gaskets leaking? Mine have had definite oil build up around the seals and on the manifolds for the last 28,000 miles but I have never actually lost any oil. How many miles on yours?

My rig comes in at 187K, I have no idea of any past maintenance. The valve covers are causing it to leak on the manifold and the smell is nasty! I have only had the rig for about a month and no real oil loss to speak of.

I have aftermarket black spark plug wires that was told its new when i bought the car. and it does look new. $25 shipped.
