Fuel Guage Indication
I read the two recommended threads and, lacking anything else, I will see what Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus does. What do I have to lose. Lacking anything else, I zero out trip odometer #1 and refuel on the basis of the miles driven and the average miles/gallon indicated. Actual fuel mileage varies from 2.5 mpg when around town (17mpg indicated, 14.5 actual) to 20mpg interstate with 18.5 actual. So, I fill when 275 to 300 miles driven, as required. Haven't run out yet. Per your question about electrical system - I have made no modifications of any kind on the system. The problem started about a year ago, taking a few tanks to go fully crapped out. This is a whole lot cheaper than spending up to $600 for a new sender which may not be the solution. Have any other ideas?
On another issue, over the years (I bought new, have 129,000 miles to date), I have had every one of the brake calipers seize. Toyota paid for the first one. The fourth one was last year. This is my second 4runner. The first was a totally trouble free '89 which I kept for 12 years and put 398,000 miles on it. Sold it to the Sales Manager at the dealership.
