Fuel injectors

I've got a 99 4 runner 3.4 with 198000 miles, I'm needing to change fuel injectors on my yota but they want like 126.00 a piece just wanting to know if anyone has had any luck with the fuel injectors from eBay ? I'm getting codes p0171-p0300-p0306-p0303. Thanks in advance.

If it was me I would pull them out and send them to http://fuelinjectorclinic.com/fuel-injector-cleaning. They will clean and test them. Replace only the ones they say are bad with OEM.

People have had issues with eBay injectors.
 
Cleaning is always good, but have you tried fuel injector cleaner? Gumout is only the best brand I've come across. STP and all other are just junk. I am telling this with experience.

BG 44k is pretty good. Only over counter cleaner I use. Expensive.

I literally JUST went through this and have 6 OEM injectors I'm bout to list for sale, just haven't yet. Messaging you.

I actually have not used any additives on the 4runner. I completely avoid them unless a problem arises. I have been through my fuel system and tank and its really clean. I have not ran into many issues running on gas since the filter usually catches everything before the injector.

But with my e85 DSM the ethanol eats the rubber (even SS race lines) after 10+ years and clogs injectors. Switching to a gas tune and putting some BG44k in the tank about every 10k miles to try and clean the "e85 goo" so you dont clog an injector on the track and burn a cylinder.

The car now has nascar rated ethanol fuel lines that cost over $400 in fuel line parts. Nothing should corrode now.

That's the route I went. Went with a local injector cleaning/rebuild company.



I don't trust any cleaner enough to do what it claims it does. Plus, I try to stay away from all "additives"

Yeap, I agree. BG 44k is a little different. Its well known in the race world. It literally like $50-$60 a can.

But it cant ultrasonic clean and then balance the injectors flow to each other and giving you a printed readout. No can can do that, HAHA.
 
One bottle of Techron in the tank before an oil change, (a high mileage engine might have some fuel wash into the sump, and you don't want solvents down there). Have done this with many cars over the years and never had an injector problem. I know that's not very scientific, but Techron is a respected product.

Cruzin Performance is another option for fuel injectors. I used them on my old 22re after a trail flop, and the engine ran significantly smoother than ever.

or just use Chevron gas?

If I ever get my FI's sent to clean.... should I never BG 44K after that?

Like you said, I think it's safe per it being a premium product.
 
I put a can of seafoam in my gas every 3 or 4 months. I've been doing this for many years and I've also never had any injector issues.

My neighbor gets me 5 gallon cans of seafoam for free, so that helps =)

I do a concentrated clean and it's easy. I go to WalMart, purchase about 4-5 cans of SeaFoam and add one full can to 4-5 tanks of gas in a row. I have 280K+ miles and never had an issue with the injectors. Seafoam at WalMart is almost $7 a can around here. So for $28-$35 bucks, you could try it and see if it makes any difference.

Why do you think you need injectors? (Just curious)
