Fuel issue. 93 3vze.

I just rebuilt the engine changed the fuel filter and checked the pump which works and fuel is getting to the rails cuz the first time I started it ( right after puttin in new fuel filter) it started right up first time. High parked idle, great idle in gear. Well I drove it up and down the road a few time up to 45mph and sometimes it would sound like it turned off for a second then keep on going as if nothing happened. Then when I parked it and turned it off I tried to turn it back on to make sure it was working and now it won't start at all. Just the starter running but the engine won't run. I don't get it cuz it JUST ran fine. My military mechanic buddies say it's a fuel delivery issue but they're not sure exactly what.. Anyone have an idea? Thx

Without more info it's really hard to guess what the problem could be. Your report of it basically dying and then resuming and then not starting once you parked it sounds like it's starved for fuel. You replaced the fuel filter but I wonder if there's something in the line that's clogging it and not letting it get through to the rails now.

I would be curious to know if it will start again after sitting for a day or two before starving out and dying again. I've had that happen before to me (on a different vehicle) because there was something in the line that traveled up to the filter and then couldn't clear it so it would die every time it lodged against the filter.

That what I was thinking but I have good pressure to the rails.
Anyways I've figured it out I hope. It's NOT a fuel issue strangely enough... My intake hose going to the Tbody was leaking. No vacuum, no MAF open flap, no fuel pump running. So I just gotta wait till tmrw to go into town and do the ISR mod and hope that fixes it and gets this runner on the road.

Were you able to get this sarted? Mine turns over but will not fire. Good fuel pressure and spark.

ya i got it running pretty well. bad oil leak now tho. rear main seal maybe.. im screwed lol

Is it a five speed? If so that transmission can be on the ground in less then a half hour to change out the rear main. You might want to make sure it really is the rear main.
