Fuel Milage

Hi, i'm new to this forum....great site!

After 10 years and 275,000kms i've decided to move on and purchase a 4runner, either '05 or '06, V6 or V8. I prefer the Sport pkg with Xreas suspension.

I didn't see a recent pole here re fuel milage on the V6 vs V8 in the sport pkg. This will be the deciding factor in which I choose. I will have to start commutting approx 200 kms (120 miles) per day plus my own evenings & weekends. I could use the extra milage. But i'm getting conflicting stories re this, some say the two are near identical. My work milage will be highway.

Now that the '05's have been out for awhile, what are everybody's results for fuel milage on '05's (or '06's...).

If you are going to be driving that kind of mileage, maybe you should consider buying a Prius.

Seriously, though, that is a lot of mileage to be putting on a vehicle - especially one that is not exactly miserly. But if it is a 4Runner you want, then go and get one. Just buy some stock in Exxon or BP.

I have a 2005 SR5 4x4 with the V-6, and I get about 15 to 16 around town and maybe 20 (at most) on the highway. I don't have a super lead foot, but I do not drive like a grandma either.

Anyway, I know that many others are going to chime in on this. Be prepared for a lot of responses!
