fuel milage

Thank you all for the input. I just bought my 99 SR5 it has 100000 miles experience. Its a 3.4 V6 auto with the 16" alum rims with 265 70 R16 tires. I was under the hood again and noticed that it requires dual ground spark plugs. I am investigating more this weekend when I can get it in my garage, - 18 c or somewhere around 15F right now outside. One more question if anyone knows: when shifting out of 4H to 4L I know the hubs unlock but does the transfer case also shut down the front drive shaft????

i think the front drive shaft is always spinning. and the front axle as well. unless you have manual hubs most things are in motion but with no load.
